Two days ago, Bella had a breakthrough. She hung out with the puggles (Maddy and Cormac), with no issues! We were concerned because Maddy can be hard to get along with, but after a few weeks of smelling each other, the dogs seemed to hang out with ease… Also, we’re finding that Bella lets us do just about anything to her. We can push her (more of a nudge, really) and she will roll to the ground. If we place our hand in her mouth, she WON’T bite down, and we can take a bowl of food away from her without any food aggression.
So I’ve been so busy with work, it’s always dark when I get home. …This is my excuse for not having a picture with this post!
Bella needs a real home. She had a rough few days after being fixed and vaccinated, but now she is back to her old self and desperately needs a new home.
Is there anyone out there who could love Bella?

So it’s official! Now that Bella has been tested, fixed and vaccinated – she’s ready to search for a real home! There is already one family who has expressed an interest in adopting her after she recovers from the surgery. We won’t get our hopes up yet, but the prospect of a forever home is exciting.
It was so sweet when Dan brought her home from getting fixed. She was still pretty drugged up and out of it, and even in her weakest moment she didn’t express an ounce of aggression. Her sad eyes looked up at us while her entire body shook. She seemed to know that we would keep her safe. For the first time, I kissed her nose and forehead the way I would my own dogs.
(The sound in this is bad… I ask a dozen “questions” to Bella as if she can answer… haha)
Bella couldn’t walk down the stairs, so Dan had to carry her!
Today Bella visited one of her sponsors (and good friends of mine). She loved all the attention! It’s great to see how relaxed she is around new people. Plus she’s looking a lot healthier after a week of good eating and some loving.
We also spent time in the yard working on our garden. The video below shows her temperament. :-)
